LOCAL ARTIST'S Brian Jason Taylor’s Auto written cave paintings by the untalented art show will be showing from 6pm to 9:30 pm. Brian's art will be displayed throughout the month of September 2008. When asked about his work Taylor said ”I paint because I am forced to from spiritual experiences throughout my life. I’m not sure when I started creating as a child, it has been that way since I can remember. I paint simply for sanity and peace that is found for me when creating something that will prove that I once walked on the earth. I’m not able to paint covered bridges, fruit and the county theatre over and over. I believe that has all been done before. Rather I deal with products of my spirituality and try to manifest them into an image that connects mind to hand. Then all is left in the final product is an essence in the soul of the painting that proves that I indeed once walked on earth.”
MUDSLIDE:We are a mix of trained and self-taught musicians from the Philadelphia area. Friday's line-up includes a lead guitarist, Bill, a rhythm and lead singer/guitar player Ed, a trumpet and flute player, Jim, a drummer Dave, and myself, Theresa, lead and back up vocals. We play mostly covers of rock & blues and mix in a little country and oldies. Playing in the main lounge from 6:00-9:30pm. Our staff will be there to provide you with information about our integrative wellness facility and all we have to offer. Come with the whole family for a night of culture, relaxation and family fun!

Featured September 5, 2008:
It is Main Street Baptist's great fortune to host the popular, Phila. band, T.S.U. outside on the front lawn between 7:45-9:00pm. T.S.U. was formed in late 2004 at an impromptu jam session. The trio is comprised of Vahe Sarkissian (Guitar), Shant Sarkissian (Bass), and Joe Fitzgerald (Drums). Through a combination of Armenian influenced hard rock grooves layered with progressive / experimental undertones, the band’s constantly evolving sound has spawned something that can only be described as pure, unique, original music…something rare in today’s overly plagiarized music scene.
Through hard work and determination T.S.U. has been able to build upon their loyal fan base by branching out from local Philadelphia venues such as the Trocadero Theatre, Grape Street Pub, and the Khyber to reach more distant clubs like the world famous CBGB’s in New York City. The band’s work ethic continues to pay off with every successful show and has even led to a feature in the November 2006 issue of Guitar World Magazine. In August of 2008, T.S.U. had the privilege of opening up for Philadelphia's own Legendary Hip-Hop act, The Roots. Since the release of their debut album, "Fallen On Deaf Ears", local music is finally experiencing a new sound that is sure to influence both musicians and fans alike.
For booking information contact Vahe Sarkissian (215)801-8838 or Joe Fitzgerald (215)901-6490 or e-mail at tsumusic@hotmail.com.
